What is it?

Residential Customers needing help paying their bill in the winter months may qualify to receive assistance through the Mountainland HEAT Program.

COVID-19 Update:

The HEAT program is still open and plans to continue to be in operation. Service providers across the state have taken precautions to limit face to face contact with customers. They are directing customers to apply through their online portal. If you do not have access to internet you may drop off a paper application to the nearest HEAT office.  For assistance with benefits visit

Utah State Energy Assistance

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Total household income is at or below 150% of the federal poverty
  • The household is responsible for paying their home energy costs.
  • The household has at least one person who is a U.S. citizen or a qualified non-citizen.

Target Groups for the Programs:

  • Families with children five and under
  • Disabled Residents
  • Seniors Age 60 and Older
